Agile software development refers to a loosely integrated set of principles and practices focused on developing software more efficiently and more economically than classic approaches; an example is the waterfall model. The term "agile" was coined during a conference in Utah in 2001, when 17 prominent figures met to discuss ways of making software development faster, lighter, and more people-centric. Since then, it has become very popular in the industry. It is therefore surprising that this is the first book available in English that is dedicated to agile development in real-time and embedded systems.
