摘要

Michel Montaigne (1987, p. 260) once remarked in one of his essays that, "It is far easier to write poetry than to appreciate it". I assume that is an appreciation of the reader that has the time and the capacity to truly see the efforts put into a text, say, a poem, an essay, a scholarly paper. Daniel Sage's (2017) detailed and in many ways generous remarks on my essay paper published in the first issue of CME this year (Styhre 2017) are an exemplary case of scholarly work that both affirms a few ideas and thereafter seeks to further explore them to make them more accessible for a wider group of researchers. To my surprise, I learned that I had written a "provocation", a term that I am not so comfortable with as what this world is not really bene-fitting from at this point in time are more provocations and empty gestures as it needs more joint agreements and collaborative efforts. Yet, if a "provocation" is a piece of text that inspires new thinking and new ways of writing about, e.g., construction management practices, that term is perhaps possible to justify.
