As design professionals increasingly desire expansive glass areas for daylighting possibilities and aesthetic appeal, demand for terrace doors and sliding doors continues to grow, especially in coastal applications. Referencing AAMA standards, this article focuses on architectural terrace doors and sliding doors, as they generally comprise more of the building envelope than other door types. These openings are also challenged more by the elements.
