The Clinton Climate Initiative (CCI) and U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) have expanded their partnership to dramatically reduce carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from buildings globally. According to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), homes, offices, and other buildings make up 38 percent of global CO_2 emissions. Consequently, the collaboration initially focuses on rnimproving efficiency in existing buildings, with a program to reduce emissions from new developments.
