摘要

We all know plenty of ways to deal with protected species on site. Animal-friendly contractors do the decent thing and find them a new home, while others deal with the problem with the help of some heavy plant while the Environment Agency are leaving site in their Smart cars. But you can also just let nature take its course. I met a site manager last week who told me about his site's resident fox. It had been used to having the run of the place but met its match when a roof was removed from an adjacent structure. The fox, on its nightly stroll out of a second floor window and on to the tiles, found, belatedly, the tiles had gone. In the morning the contractor found a pile of ginger mess at the foot of the building. Not such a wily old fox.
