Family owned self-drive plant hirer Ridgway Rentals is planning to thrive during the downturn and has placed a ￡4m order for 60 machines with Marubeni Komatsu. Director Stuart Jones said: "There is still a lot of work going on and it makes sense for contractors to hire machinery as it doesn't tie up all their working capital at a time when funding is becoming difficult. Contractors can also have exactly what they want when they want it, rather than making do with the wrong machine because that's what they bought for an earlier job."
