Q: What are the TTPs of processing?rnA: The acronym TTP stands for time, tempera-ture and pressure. Many processes, both chemical and physical, are nicely captured by those usually interchangeable parameters.rnConsider calendering, the process of rolling a web between two nipped rollers. Whether the purpose is to roll metals thinner, to make magazine paper glossier or to simply bond two materials together, the results are remarkably similar in sensitivity to the TTPs. If you want to make paper glossier, you have three primary adjustments. You could first slow the machine, thus increasing the time the nip has to act on the web. Second, you could increase the temperature.
