A handful of winners in the 2004 Tag & Label Mfrs. Institute's annual competition exemplify some of the unusual new directions in which the industry is headed. Along with dozens of pressure-sensitive labels, coupons, tags and promotional items, three innovative narrow- web converted products show how the technology is moving beyond the realm of labels to open new markets. A total of 107 winners were chosen, including a Best of Show, two innovators, 47 first-place, 22 second-place, and 35 honorable mentions. Each was honored during the TLMI Annual Meeting at a special banquet on Oct. 26 in La Quinta, CA.
