摘要

Estimation of the cost of wind energy projects and an assessment of their economic viability are important and difficult tasks. Vendors and manufacturers want to be fairly certain that the project is either funded, or funding is very likely, before providing a firm bid. This article introduces a cost estimation methodology for use in pre-feasibility studies. This cost estimation method is based upon published case studies. Its use enables a decision maker to estimate the equipment and non-equipment costs for a wind energy project. A financial analysis example is presented using the cost estimates outlined in this article.
