摘要

This memoir relates the writer's experience as a Signal Corps cryptanalyst in World War II. The major foci are the efforts of the Signal Intelligence Service in Australia and at Arlington Hall to solve the Japanese Army's codes. The initial entries into the codes and some of the later efforts to keep these entries going as the Japanese Army made changes are described. It supplements the article by David Mead, "The Breaking of the Japanese Army Administration Code" in the July 1994 issue of Cryptologia, 18(3): 193-203.
