Q I have a 2003 Suzuki Bandit 1200 with 27,000 miles on the odometer, and it has a weird problem that's driving me nuts. Most of the time, it runs perfectly; but if I turn the throttle all the way open down around 2000 or 2500 rpm in any gear besides first or second, it "hiccups" like it's skipping a tooth somewhere. The skipping continues about one or two times a second and doesn't stop until the engine revs higher. The chain had gotten pretty worn out and I thought it might be the problem, so I had it and both of the sprockets replaced, but the hiccup didn't stop. Actually, it keeps getting worse. When the problem first started, it would only happen maybe every third or fourth time I would accelerate at low rpm; now it happens just about every time. Do you have any idea what the problem might be? I hope it's not in the transmission, because I hear that repairs for that part of a Bandit are really expensive.
