In today's global economy, all business research is potentially "international" business research. Users may request the same information for Canton, China as they do for Canton, Ohio. International business intelligence has three dimensions: company, industry and country. The information needed about countries may be economic, demographic, political or geographic and the information sources may be statistical or text. It may be for the past, the present and the future. 1. I am an investment banker looking at opportunities in emerging markets. What is the investment climate in Brazil? 2. I am a major food company interested in expanding into Central America. In what country should I locate a plant? Is there a market for my instant soup? 3. I am a researcher studying trends in unemployment in Mexico. Has NAFTA had an effect on unemployment rates?
