Eurocopter is chasing a potential order for up to 200 light utility and training helicopters for the Russian Air Force.rnThe company is offering its AS350 and AS355 Ecureuil family for the programme, and sees the deal as an important first step for breaking into the country's military market However, the deal is subject to the outcome of an evaluation of the aircraft In May, Eurocopter delivered five Ecureuils to an undisclosed Russian operator, believed to be the State Flight Test Centre in Moscow. These include three single-engined AS350 B3s and a pair of AS355 NP twins. The organisation will evaluate the aircraft before a decision whether to order is taken, which is expected by the end of the year.
