The Contingency Operating Base (COB) at Basra International Airport has been the centre for aviation support to the Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) operations in the city over recent weeks, according to Captain Ric Cole of the UK MoD's Combat Camera Team based at the airfield.rnIraqi and coalition aircraft have worked around the clock to keep the ISF supported and supplied in operations against militia groups in the city.rnIn a statement made by UK Defence Secretary Des Browne on 24 April: 'The [ISF] operation to enforce the rule of law in Basra - known as Operation Charge of the Knights - is continuing, with support from coalition forces.'
