摘要

Balochistan is widely projected to become the regional trade hub on account of the CPEC projects. If this grand connectivity corridor materialises by the stipulated time period, this will undoubtedly make Pakistan a major economic and naval power in South Asia, as well as making Balochistan a developed and pros-perous province. However, the growing presence of Daesh in Balochistan is likely to further complicate and string out the low-inten-sity insurgency of the resource-rich province, thus instigating major security impediments to the grand economic project. The civilian government is required to display seri-ousness and reform the toothless police of the province so as to complement the army's operations against regionally-funded terrorists, militants and insurgents ensconced in Balochistan.
