摘要

The Obama Administration is showing a sense of urgency to help Pakistan economically, militarily and politically. The American eagerness is neither attributable to effective Pakistani diplomacy nor the political leadership's outreach to the new administration in Washington. It is because of scores of reports from intelligence agencies and Washington's numerous think tanks painting identical bleak security future for nuclear armed Pakistan. The embarrassing security lapses in the terrorist attack on the visiting Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore on March 3rd further heightened these fears.
