Was it a coincidence or a deliberate news leak that two of America's top newspapers simultaneously ran almost identical and highly speculative stories, accusing Pakistan's premier intelligence agency ISI of being in league with Taliban? Was the timing of the August 1 stories in Washington Post and New York Times accusing ISI of aiding Taliban and abetting violence in Afghanistan also a coincidence? The two stories appeared at the end of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani's maiden visit to the US. Similarities between the WP and NYT stories were striking and seemed to have emanated from the same source.
