In its videotape released on Monday, Jan 31 al-Qaida's Number 2 Ayman al-Zawahiri, he calls president Bush a 'butcher' for 'killing only innocent people' in the US air strike on Damadola in Pakistan. The missile was said to have been launched by a CIA drone based on intelligence that Zawahiri and some of his associates would be present in the house at that time, but as it transpired Zawahiri was not there. The government of Pakistan also acknowledged that innocent civilians were indeed killed in the air strike alongwith some wanted terrorists as well and had lodged a strong protest with the US at the incursion, terming it a 'violation of Pakistan's sovereignty. President Musharraf also categorically told the US that the air strike 'cannot be repeated'.
