As part of the government's drive to meet sustainable development targets, the Air Command Utility Management Bureau Service (UMBS) worked in partnership with the Carbon Trust under their Biomass Heat Accelerator (BHA) programme towards delivery of a 500kW biomass facility at RAF Spadeadam, supplying heat to the largest building on site, the F1 Main Hangar.
