Defence Vehicle Dynamics marks its 10th anniversary this year, having quickly established itself as one of the most significant stakeholder events for the land equipment community. Taking place on 19th-20th June, DVD2013 - to be held, as usual, at Millbrook Proving Ground, Bedfordshire - is the first such event to be jointly sponsored, with the army and traditional organisers DE&S sharing responsibility in providing a forum for discussion, collaboration and demonstration. Although the intention had been to hold the event biennially after 2012, the large-scale reform of both the army and MoD procurement processes in the wake of the Levene Report and Strategic Defence and Security Review (SDSR) have seen DVD return 12 months ahead of schedule. Military and industry figures will come together at Millbrook to discuss how the army can manage its changing capability role. "The army really values the opportunities that DVD gives for us to coherently engage with a key segment of industry in more depth than other events enable," declared Major General Paul Jacques, Director General Logistics, Support and Equipment, on the announcement of this year's event.
