Iarrived back in the UK from the Middle East to a dank, cold and dreary Heathrow with two weeks of paid employment remaining, a civilian pilot's licence, a rucksack full of clothes and the nagging doubt that perhaps I had made the wrong choice to leave the services. I am sure every service leaver goes through it, but it provided no comfort for me at the time.So what to do? The airlines weren't recruiting so that was my prime choice of employment out of the window. I had spent considerable time reading about and investigating various options and decided upon the energy sector as a more stable option. People will always need energy, demand is rising both nationally and internationally and the opportunities within it and its associated supply chain are enormous.
