The development of secure personal radios in the military has been on an almost exponential curve over the past few years. Encryption, data transfer rates, the number of interfaces, channel count and a range of other features have been added into a unit that barely seems to grow in size at all.rnOn the audio side, the modern digital radio is capable of supporting much more than the single channel always associated with the personal radio of five years ago. The number of channels continues to increase and the number of talk groups on each channel is also multiplying. From the single channel, single point of contact, to radios supporting multiple channels and talk groups of 2, 4, 8 or even 16 are becoming available. Where will it end?
