摘要

There is undoubtedly pressure on the developed world to pay more attention to the health of the planet. It is not only the recycling of plastic bottles and newspaper, the planting of saplings to replace trees felled, or the manufacture of hybrid biofuel cars that play on the minds of the population; the pollut on of the waterways and atmosphere is a persistent nagging headache none of us can ignore.rnThe impact of industry on the environment is a colossal concern - in a lot of cases, it can restrict commercial growth and prevent competition due to the costs and liabilities involved.rnIn the demilitarisation industry, there are huge differences in attitude towards what is basically a moral balancing act in regard to the environment; I call this 'cost versus conscience'. The contractor generally wants to offer the customer the best price for the demilitarisation service, but has a dilemma on its hands - does it offer the service requested by utilising adequate technology, or does it invest in offering advanced green technology and hope the customer rewards it for its efforts?
