Thanks to its presence in both regional and business aircraft markets, Bombardier is able to function much like a micro aerospace conglomerate - when one market is soft it counts on the strength of the other to ride out the rough times. For example, when the corporate aviation sector tanked following the events of 9/11, the company's regional jet sector helped keep the unit growing.
