The henicopid centipede Lamyctes africanus (Porath, 1871) is recorded for Ger many for the f irst time. The species was f irst discovered by barcoding methods and subsequently conf irmed by morphological characters, and spec- imens were also collected from additional locations. Information about the German sites where L. africanus was found is given and its mode of dispersal is discussed.
