We are sad to report that Dr. Elizabeth J. Farnsworth passed away on 27 October 2017. Elizabethearned her BA in Environmental Studies from Brown University (1982), an MS from the Field Naturalist Program at the University of Vermont (1992), and a PhD from Harvard University (1997), studyingwith Elizabeth Kellogg (evolutionary physiology of seed dormancy) and Fakhri Bazzaz (plant ecophysiological responses to climate change). Elizabeth has published prominent papers on the ecologyof mangroves, the ethics of ecological experimentation, the spread of invasive species, and the conservation, management, and status of the New England ?ora. Her most widely cited lead-author paper isFarnsworth (2000).
