摘要

During november 2000 to december 2003, 365 calves faeces were collected in eight breeding farms from the Mitidja (Algeria) in order to evaluate faecal shedding of F5+ E. coli and their resistance to antimicrobial agents. The presence of F5+ E. coli has been recorded only in five farms where the percentages varied between 1.92% to 9.09%. The prevalence of F5+ strains in diarrhoeic and non-diarrhoeic calves is situated at 5% and 2.4% respectively. The highest infection rate is situated in calves of 1-7 days old (6,9%). The studies of antibiotic resistance showed a resistance of F5+ E. coli to tetracycline, ticarcilline, ampicilline. However, no resistance has been noted in F5+ strains to colistin, enroflaxin, ofloxacin, nalidixic acid and gentamicin
