This year’s conference was the first time I’d been able to attend since joining the group, although I’ve been to a few CIG library visits before. It was a very intense couple of days, which I blogged about on my return and was then asked to write up for the newsletter from the perspective of a conference newbie. As others have written accounts of it elsewhere, and the conference presentations are avail-able on the website, these are just some of the thoughts and reflections I brought away with me. They are very much from the perspective of a special collections librarian (I was Rare Books and Special Collections Librarian at the Royal College of Physicians when I attended the conference, although I have since started a new job at Brunel University).
