Inthepresentstudy,weobservedtheeffectsofan#945;subxmlns="http://pub2web.metastore.ingenta.coms/"1/sub-adrenoceptoragonist(phenylephrine),#59137;-adrenoceptoragonist(isoprenaline),muscariniccholinoceptoragonist(carbachol),and#945;subxmlns="http://pub2web.metastore.ingenta.coms/"1/sub-adrenoceptorantagonist(doxazosin)onthebladdermicturitionfunctioninanesthetizedmice.Changesinbladderpressureinresponsetofillingandbloodpressurewererecordedbyusingadataacquisitionsystem.Phenylephrine(50to800#59157;g/kg)increasedvesicalmicturitionpressureinadose-dependentmannerbutincreasedmicturitionbasalpressureonlyat800#59157;g/kg.Carbachol(3to7#59157;g/kg)increasedtheintercontractionintervalandmicturitiontimeinadose-dependentmannerbutincreasedmicturitionbasalpressureonlyat7#59157;g/kg.Isoprenaline(10to1000#59157;g/kg)increasedmicturitiontimeanddecreasedvesicalmicturitionpressureinadose-dependentmanner.Doxazosin(10to1000#59157;g/kg)didnotaffectbladdermicturitionfunctionbutdose-dependentlyinhibitedphenylephrine-inducedincreasesinvesicalmicturitionpressure.Carbachol(7#59157;g/kg)andisoprenaline(1mg/kg)causedatransientfallinbloodpressure,whereasdoxazosin(1mg/kg)hadalong-lastinghypotensiveeffect.Themaximaldecreaseinsystolicandmeanbloodpressurebycarbacholdidnotdifferfromthatbydoxazosinandisoprenaline,respectively.Phenylephrine(800#59157;g/kg)transientlyincreasedthebloodpressureofanesthetizedmice.Theseresultsindicatethatactivationofmuscariniccholinoceptorsdecreasesvoidingfrequencyandincreasesbladdercapacityinanesthetizedmice.Activationof#945;subxmlns="http://pub2web.metastore.ingenta.coms/"1/sub-adrenoceptorsmainlyincreasesvesicalmicturitionpressure,whereasactivationof#59137;-adrenoceptorsdecreasesvesicalmicturitionpressureandprolongsmicturitiontimeinanesthetizedmice.
