We present an intuitively satisfying geometric proof of Fermat's result for positive integers that src="Edit_0b50006d-6c00-4238-bfe4-e54f91b8720a.bmp" alt="" /> style="font-family:Verdana;font-size:12px;"> style="font-size:10pt;font-family:;" "=""> style="font-family:Verdana;font-size:12px;">for prime moduli style="font-family:Verdana;font-size:12px;">p style="font-family:Verdana;font-size:12px;">, provided style="font-family:Verdana;font-size:12px;">p style="font-family:Verdana;font-size:12px;"> does not divide style="font-family:Verdana;font-size:12px;">a style="font-family:Verdana;font-size:12px;">. This is known as Fermat’s Little Theorem. The proof is novel in using the idea of colorings applied to regular polygons to establish a number-theo style="font-size:12px;font-family:Verdana;">retic result. A lemma traditionally, if ambiguously, attributed to Burnside provides a critical enumeration step.
