Researches concerning the influence of early defoliations on the oak fructification

摘要

The defoliator insects with an activ feeding period over the early spring as Tortrix viridana and some Geometridae species can contribute at decrease of fructification by directly consumtion of female flowers or indirect by metabolically debalance, lack of flower buds initiation, decrease of fertilization capacity and abortion of juvenile acorns. The number of female flowers fecundated acorns and mentains acorns are proved to be in significabtly negative correlation with Tortrix viridana attacks. The experimental treatments with syntesis pyretroid (Sumi-alpha ULV, Decis ULV, Katate ULV) applied at hatching of eggs stage, led to avoiding the defoliations and futher determined the increase of mast production in oaks.
