Critical librarianship has brought many changes in how libraries have examined their programsand services, created new positions dedicated to equity, inclusion, and diversity, and paved theway to challenge existing assumptions about our work and environment. Technology also exists ina space that is not neutral, as library systems and services reflect specific perspectives in theircontent and focus as well as how they are made accessible (or not). I would like to briefly examinehow we can begin to think about these issues within academic libraries, and offer some additionalreadings for further reflection for four technology-related areas: spaces, services/programming,systems, and engaging with our users.
