摘要

This paper evaluates the direct consequences of ICT in Nigeria Universities. Universities are viewed as the source of empirical knowledge required for economic and societal development of any country. This involves the expectation that Universities should actually deliver up to date world class higher education, which can only be achieved through the incorporation of ICT and its service. The paper investigates the popularity of internet services within the university community and further reveals its consequences in academic performance affected by the use of social networks, prominently facebook by students. It considers the effect on the students of a University in Lagos, Nigeria’s largest commercial city. The data gain from the surveying questionnaire is presented in analytical chart formats. The survey shows that there is a great adverse effect in the areas of combining social and media exploration like face booking with real studying and consequently leads to lower CGPA of student users. The study proposes an interoperatabilty system of social platform with Academic processes.
