Modeling Particulate Bed Electrode for Metal Recovery

A theoretical model has been developed to predict bed thickness and hydrodynamic behavior ofconducting particles in an expanded bed used for heavy metal removal. Two-dimensional model hasbeen developed to predict the particle behavior in expanded bed electrode. Model equations have beendeveloped for electrode thickness and bed porosity. The effect of particle size on metal recovery hasbeen critically examined. The present model simulations have been compared with the experimentaldata reported in literature.
