An Assessment of Lead Contamination of Dried Goat Faeces Intended For Manure Use

Dried goat faeces intended for use as manure on farm crops was assessed for contamination of lead. Mean concentrations of lead from the control site were 0.4590mg/L in February, 0.2665mg/L in March, 0.4293mg/L in April and 0.3183mg/L in May while for the sampling site the mean lead concentrations were 0.3257mg/L, 0.5700mg/L, 0.4367mg/L and 0.4145mg/L in the same month period respectively. The mean lead concentration for the studied four months in the sampling site was 0.43675±0.100mg/L against 0.368275±0.091mg/L from the control site; sample site is higher than the control site. However, the difference in mean concentration was not significant (p<0.05).
