摘要

In order to design and build solid state Ag/AgCl reference electrodes, the thick-film and thin-filmtechniques are frequently used to obtain a silver coating on a substrate that is subsequently chlorinated.In this part of the work we propose the use of a graphite/epoxy resin-based composite to electrodepositsilver onto its surface; to produce the said silver coating, we carried out potentiodynamic andpotentiostatic studies of the silver electrodeposition process. The results obtained indicate a 3D silvernucleation and growth mechanism controlled by diffusion. Also it became apparent that obtaining asurface with variable roughness enables the deposition of up to a 100% more silver on the compositesused. The present study has been carried out with the aim of obtaining design parameters to construct asilver coating reference solid state electrode as an alternative to thick and thin-film electrodes.
