摘要

The corrosion performance of Carbon steel in HCl solution with different concentration ofsynthesized Pyridazinium-based Ionic liquids namely: 1-(2-(4-nitrophenyl)-2-oxoethyl)pyridaziniumbromide NPEPB, was investigated by electrochemical measurements and weight loss. The obtainedresults reveal that NPEPB performs excellently as good corrosion inhibitor for Carbon steel in 1.0 MHCl. Polarization curves studies indicated that NPEPB behaves as mixed-type inhibitors. Thecalculated inhibition efficiencies from weight loss measurements, show the same evolution as thoseobtained from electrochemical studies. Also, the inhibition efficiency was found to increase with-3 increase of the inhibitor concentrations to reach 85 % at 10 M of NPEPB due to the adsorption of theinhibitors molecule on the electrod surface. Impedance measurements spectra exhibit one capacitiveand valid the inhibitive ability. confirming that this inhibitor inhibits the corrosion in 1 M HClthrough adsorption process following Langmuir adsorption isotherm. Some thermodynamicfunctions of the carbon steel dissolution process in acid medium were also determined and discussed.
