摘要

A simple method was applied to prepare coated silver nanoparticles with polymerizable surfactants. Inthis respect, Noigen R-N10 was modified by esterification with maleic anhydride. The producedsurfactant was used as dispersing agent for silver nanoparticles, which prepared from AgNO3. The sizeand the morphology of the nanoparticles have been examined by conventional and high-resolutiontransmission electron microscopy. The prepared silver nanoparticles has size ranging from 25 to 80nm, while the diameters ranging from 2 to 18 nm The prepared silver nanoparticles have beenemployed as corrosion inhibitor for carbon steel in 1M HCl solution using electrochemical impedancespectroscopy (EIS) technique. EIS data indicated that silver nanoparticles reduced drastically thecorrosion rate of carbon steel and exhibit good performance as well as barrier property against thecorrosion in HCl solution.
