Educational tours for librarians are an excellent way for this professional group to further training. One of the organisations in Poland, which offers this kind of training is Unia Europejskich Federalistów, based in ?ód?. In 2014 the author participated in the educational programme, held under the slogan: “Libraries as information and multimedia centres in Romania”. Among the libraries that she visited was the Central Library of the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, where she got to know its structure and functioning. The author shares her memories of the trip and visit to libraries in the Transylvania region, and specifically the university library, which she better knows due to the place of work. The aim of the article is also to encourage librarians to take on challenges when seeking to gain experience and self-development.
