In the article the author discusses the concept of data information literacy - a competency in the use of data, mostly research data, including the terminology and relationship with the concept of information literacy. Then the author illustrates competences of people with data management abilities and possibilities for education that are offered in this area. Finally the author points out the role of the academic librarian in designing and conducting classes in data information literacy.
