摘要

The discovery of antibiotics in 1928 and their subsequent large-scaleproduction are considered to be one of the most important achievementsin the history of medicine [1]. One of the most important discoveriesafter that of β-lactams was streptomycin, the first aminoglycosidediscovered. The history of aminoglycosides was then marked by the successiveintroduction of a series of compounds (kanamycin, gentamicin,and tobramycin) for the treatment of infections due to Gram-negativebacilli [2].
