The call for abstracts for the Health Systems ResearchSymposium 2020 (1) was recently announced; the theme“Re-imagining health systems for a better health and socialjustice” looks bold and ambitious. HSR2020 will bethe sixth global symposium on health systems researchand for the first time will be hosted in the Eastern MediterraneanRegion (EMR) (2). The symposium is scheduledto take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, during 8–12November 2020. The last five global symposia on healthsystems research (3) were hosted in Africa, Americas, Europeand Western Pacific regions.
