Shell Closures and Structural Information from Nucleon Separation Energies

In this work nuclei along N=Z line are of interest as transitions from sphericalto deformed shapes are expected to occur when going across the medium mass region. Inthis respect a strong sudden shape transition between deformation is predicted to occur inthe region N=Z as well as N>Z nuclei. New shell gaps are predicted using nucleon andtwo-nucleon separation energies and the shape evaluation are depicted by applying triaxiallydeformed cranked Nilsson Strutinsky calculations. Nucleon separation energy plays a majorrole in the prediction of new magicity in the proton and neutron drip line nuclei.
