The results of research on influence of sound insulation on speech intelligibility are presented. An experiment was done using an anechoic room where elements of previously pre-filtered speech were reproduced, simulating sound-proofing of partition constructions taking into consideration various sources of background noise. The results of articulation tests are compared to the data of a simulation test of the same process using formant and formant-modulation methods. The research gives the opportunity to assess the impact of sound insulation on speech intelligibility.
