ArticulatedsquamationsofLoganelliascotica(Traquair,1898)fromtheLowerSilurianLesmahagowinliersofsouthernScotlandhavebeenstudied.Theyincludesevenarticulatedspecimens,threeofthemrepresentingcompletethelodontfossils,andfourpartiallypreservedpostpectoral,precaudalandcaudalpartsoftheexoskeleton.Allthefivemaintypesofthelodontscalesthatisrostral,cephalo-pectoral,postpectoral,precaudalandpinnalsacles,aswellasrespectivesquamationpatternshavebeenobservedonarticulatedspecimens.Thespecificorbital,branchial,andbucco-pharyngealscales,characteristicofL.scotica,havenotbeenfoundduetothepoorornon-preservationoftheseparticularareaswithinthespecimensstudied.Tailmorphologyandsquamationpatternofthecaudalfinhavebeenstudiedwithparticularattention,andtheconstitutionofthecaudalfinrayshasbeenanalyzed.TherostralsquamationpatternisarguedtobecharacteristictoL.scotica.
