摘要

The effects of low back pain in terms of quality of life, productivity and workers' absenteeism are enormous.~(6)Those that have worked for at least one year in the respective hospitals and gave their consent to participate were considered eligible for enrolment into the study. Those with history of trauma to the back or surgery performed on the back in the last 6 weeks were excluded. The sample size was estimated at 320 using the using the Fisher's formula for proportion,~(37) a 72.5% prevalence of low back pain among healthcare workers in a previous study,~(11) a precision of 5% and an anticipated response rate of 95%.
