Spiders of the family Theridiidae is represented in India by 57 valid species. A Theridiid female of the genus Episinus was found from Shimla, Western Himalayan hills of India and E. pentagonalis is described as a new species. A comparison with other closely related species of Episinus is also deliberated in the present communication.
