Todd Enoch, head of Serials and Electronic Resourcesfor the University of North Texas (UNT) Libraries inDenton, started the presentation by giving a definitionof web-scale discovery and describing the UNT Dentondiscovery set-up. According to Enoch, web-scalediscovery is a service that indexes materials from manydifferent sources. When a library subscribes to adiscovery service and a user performs a search, thediscovery service reaches out to the institution’sknowledgebase (Serials Solutions at UNT Denton). Theknowledgebase returns results that are available tousers in full-text. When users click on the link, thecontent is retrieved using an OpenURL link resolver(Serials Solutions 360 Link for UNT Denton).
