Abstract：Objective To evaluate the modified Trendelenburg position in ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy. Methods 〓Totally 80 patients undergoing ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy for ureteral calculi were enrolled and assigned into two groups according to the surgical position. Forty patients in the control group adopted the lithotomy position, and another 40 patients in the observation group received modified Trendelenburg position. The successful rate of one-time insertion, stone-free rate and postoperative complications were observed and compared between two groups. Results 〓The successful rate of one-time insertion was 95.00%(38/40)in the observation group and was 85.00%(34/40)in the control group, with a significant difference(P0.05). The stone-free rate was 85.00%(34/40)in the observation group and was 65.00%(26/40)in the control group(P0.05). There was 1 case of fever in the observation group and 4 cases of fever in the control group after operation. Conclusion 〓Applying the Trendelenburg position is helpful to increase the successful insertion of ureteroscopy.
