Abstract：Objective To investigate the effect of acupoint application combined with Chinese medicine hot compress in improving rehabilitation of gastrointestinal function after intestinal surgery. Methods 〓Totally 120 patients undergoing laparoscopic colorectal surgery between July, 2017 and December, 2017 were assigned into four groups(group A with routine care, group B with acupoint application, group C with Chinese medicine hot compress, group D with combination therapy of acupoint application and hot compress, n=30, respectively). The incidence of postoperative abdominal distention, time to recovery of bowel sound and anus exhausting were recorded and compared among four groups. Results 〓The incidence of postoperative abdominal distention was 10.00%(3/30)in group D, which was lower than 60.00%(18/30)in group A, 36.67%(11/30)in group B and 33.33%(10/30)in group C, with significant differences(P0.05)。 The time to recovery of bowel sound and anus exhausting was shorter in the group D than that of group A, B, C, respectively(P0.05). Conclusion 〓The acupoint application combined with Chinese medicine hot compress is effective to improve the rehabilitation of gastrointestinal function after intestinal surgery.
